I’ve used SmartBuyGlasses before. I bought a pair of Tom Ford glasses. They came quickly, and the price and quality were outstanding! This made me want to place another order with them. They did not disappoint! This is now my go-to spot for eyewear!

Goggle Sports Sunglasses

It’s pretty evident from their general aesthetic that goggle sunglasses are designed for performance. The sturdy, athletic build of goggle sunglasses differs very visibly from that of standard sunglasses. In recent years they’ve become something of a fashion statement, but they’re really purpose-built for skiing and snowboarding.

Most goggle sunglasses have a single wraparound lens that covers both eyes and gives a wider field of vision. An adjustable strap replaces the temples, and they sit tight to the face to protect your eyes from the elements. These features are very functional on the slopes, but not so practical for everyday use!

Do goggles have UV protection?

Given that their intended environment is a snowy one, UV protection is a must-have for goggle sunglasses. Skiing exposes you to a lot of UV rays from the abundant direct sunlight, while fresh snow reflects even more UV radiation than water.

As such, protection from UV rays comes as standard with ski goggle sunglasses. The majority of sun goggles are fitted with either polarised or mirrored lenses, both of which have built-in UV protection.

Should I get polarised goggles?

Polarised ski goggles can be very useful when surrounded by blindingly white snow. Reflective surfaces give off horizontal light waves, which polarised lenses block out thanks to their special chemical coating. Polarised goggle sunglasses reduce glare, giving you cleaner, sharper vision as you slalom down the piste or chill out at the après ski!

Mirrored lenses are a common alternative to polarisation on goggle sunglasses. These work not by blocking light waves, but rather by reflecting them outwards, meaning less light reaches your eyes. Mirrored lenses also greatly reduce glare and add a stylish flourish to your shades!

In contrast to their one very specific use, goggle sunglasses come in an incredible variety of styles. At SmartBuyGlasses, you can browse hundreds of options, from sleek, futuristic shapes to vividly-coloured retro silhouettes and everything in between. We have something for everyone, regardless of your budget!

We carry goggle sunglasses from sports eyewear experts like Oakley and Adidas, as well as luxury brands like Bottega Veneta and Moncler. Whatever your tastes, you’re sure to find something to express your personality!
