1. Cleaning your glasses

The first step is to clean the surface of your lenses to see where the scratches actually are. Make sure to use a cleaner (specifically for glasses) and a clean micro-fibre cloth or cleaning glasses cloth. Avoid using your clothes to wipe your glasses as they can scratch the lenses even more, make sure to also avoid using harsh chemicals as they will remove the protective coatings on the lenses.

2. Scratch repair for glasses

The next step is to apply a scratch remover to your lenses.  Start by dabbing non-abrasive toothpaste on the scratched lens and rub it gently with a cotton bud or ball. To remove the toothpaste, you’ll need to rinse the lens with cool water. If the scratch is deep, you might need to repeat this process a few times. Alternatively, if you don’t have non-abrasive toothpaste, you can also use baking soda and water. Mix equal parts of soda and water until you achieve the same consistency as toothpaste and apply onto the lens in the same way.
