Christmas Countdown
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Every year it’s the same. You wait. You stall. You drag things out and then Christmas rolls around and you don’t have gifts for the folks you love. Why did you delay? Why do we all. This year, think ahead and plan for Christmas in advance by shopping online and ordering designer glasses and sunglasses for your loved ones—the perfect functional, fashionable and memorable gift for men, women and kids alike. And the gift that keeps on giving.
What woman, of any age, doesn’t love fashion Even the girls who pretend not to care are interested in showing that they don’t care by wearing vintage or retro sunglasses to distinguish themselves from their high-end Prada-wearing counterparts. Fashion is, in that way, even for the unfashionable among us.
But function and fashion can be the same thing, especially when it comes to the most important accessory a woman can ever wear—glasses. For many women it’s a source of low self-esteem and it makes them feel ugly, awkward and unfashionable. You could be the person to turn that all around for your loved one by showing them that their vision problems are not a curse, but another excuse for great fashion and to make them look even more beautiful.
Finding the perfect pair for a gift isn’t easy, but one method of doing that is through buying an online gift card so your loved one can shop until they find the pair they adore, on your money. Or, you could buy the frames and then leave cash for the lenses. Either way, it’s practical, beautiful and functional.

Hiding your age isn’t easy, especially if you have lived a rough life. However, with a few fashion tricks of the trade you’ll be able to look years younger just by adjusting your wardrobe slightly. First thing to tackle is the face. You’ll want to cover your crow’s feet with sunglasses when outside or fashionable eyeglasses when inside. Think Prada for outdoors and horn-rimmed fashion glasses from Alexander McQueen or Dior for inside. The bigger the fashion label the younger you appear, and make sure the shades and glasses cover your biggest wrinkles from multiple angles.
You might also consider adding more color into your wardrobe. An all black, or dark wardrobe has the effect of making you look more conservative, and as a result a tough older. This is because of the 1950s principle of sticking to simple designs and darker colors when married. For men, this is less true as men tend to wear lighter colors with age, which comes from the tradition of shedding the suit jacket with retirement and sticking to the white, or pale pastel shirt beneath it. This is a dignified look, but every once in a while add in a bold color or bring black or blue back into your wardrobe, despite your retirement.
Check out what 30 year olds are wearing and mimic their style. Thirty is the ideal fashion age because you can still be hip and young and yet you can also pull of older, more refined looks with dignity instead of looking like you are playing dress up. So, if you are over thirty keep an eye on thirties fashion and if you are under thirty try to enjoy your youth and go wild while you can.

Giving the gift of sight
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses | View Comments
There is no greater gift than the gift of live. But secondary to that is the gift of sight. Sometimes people won’t spend money on themselves when they need to, they don’t pamper themselves and they don’t by the items that have real value. With a pair of nice Ralph Lauren of Hugo Boss eyeglasses your friend will be able to see through the finest eyeglasses, and they will look cool doing it.
It’s sad because the face is the first thing everyone sees and people shouldn’t skimp on face accessories. Still, they do. They have bills and kids, or school and work and hobbies and everything else. How can they spend time and money on themselves for something as necessary as eyeglasses with all of life swirling around them. That’s where you come in. Sweep in like the angel you are and buy them something that is useful and high quality, something they can use daily and think of you while wearing. Don’t give potpourri or cologne or socks, give the gift of sight.
Depending on the people involved, you’ll need to find out a few key things before you buy your eyeglasses gift. First, if it’s a woman you’ll need to go for something feminine and charming without being too professional. For men, something sporty and cool without being too professional is ideal for most men. They want to look good and slick without looking corporate, so keep that in mind when buying eyeglasses. For kids, teaching good eyeglasses care is important, and buying high-end glasses for them is a sure way to start to teach them about taking care of themselves and their stuff.

Eyeglasses come in all shapes and sizes, but not all of those options are appropriate for the professional workplace. Sure, if you work in an art studio Alexander McQueen glasses may be appropriate, but if you work at Skoda, conservative eyewear will get you further. Try a simple but designer and unique pair by Ralph Lauren or Hugo Boss rather than the overdone Prada or Dior office glasses and you’ll find you stand out more for fitting in than for trying too hard to look corporate chic.
Aside from the obvious conservative brands, you’ll find there are a range of cool brands to keep you looking corporate and real without compromising your personality. If you are a skater by night, then be a skater by day by wearing Ray Ban warfareer sunglasses with eyewear lenses. If you are s jock by night, then be a jock by day and where Nike or Adidas eyeglasses. You may be shocked to learn that they sell professional eyewear and that these designs are sporty and cool, but also professional and sleek and totally appropriate for any high-end businesses office.
You don’t need to hide who you are at work, but of course you can’t show up in your weekend garb and expect to be accepted. No, you have to play the game a little bit, and for some that may mean a suit and tie, but it doesn’t mean giving up on your identity in terms of style. If you are covered in tattoos then wear Ed Hardy eyeglasses to work. There is no law that says you can’t express yourself in the work place, especially in a liberal and open place like Canada.

Professional Glasses for the Workplace
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
For the workplace, there are some glasses that look appropriate, like the ever-popular Ralph Lauren office line of glasses, and some that are inappropriate but still cool, like Nike’s glasses line. Both are really cool, but for some professional settings only the former will really work.
First, it depends on the kind of office you have. If everyone wears a suit and tie to work, and women are in heels, then you’ll want to buy professional looking glasses for the workplace. If your office is more relaxed and people are free to express themselves through fashion then you may find a flashy pair of Alexander McQueen glasses are exactly what would be appropriate for the office. Gauge the mood before you spend the cash, as we’d hate for you to be reprimanded because of your wardrobe.
Second, depending on how much money you make you should be looking at the highest possible designer brands for your budget. Don’t skimp on your glasses, they are the first thing people see on you, and any time someone looks at you they will see your glasses. It shows that you respect yourself when you spend money on an important and necessary accessory like that. People love confidence in others, and it take confidence to wear designer glasses. Still, if you wear cheap Wal*Mart glasses people will notice that as well and will have the opposite opinion of you.
Third, stepping slightly outside your comfort zone with glasses is a good idea. You want to come across slightly more edgy then you are, slightly more adventurous. Then, every time you look in the mirror or others look at you they will see the person you are becoming as well as the person that you are.

1. Pick eyeglasses that suit your hair and skin tones, as well as your bone structure. Large black Dior glasses won’t look as great on a thin red head as well as it would on a blond, for example.
2.Soak your eyeglasses overnight if they are greasy or have tiny scratches. Often, an overnight soak in soapy water will release debris.
3.Clean you glasses only with eyewear cleaning clothes, not tissue or your clothing.
4.Spend your money wisely, your face is the first thing people see so don’t skimp on your mostnoticeable and important accessory. Same with sunglasses and anything that has fashion and medical benefits.
5.Choose a brand of glasses that suits your lifestyle. A librarian isn’t likely to look natural in Ed Hardy, for example.
6.Never follow celebrity trends. They are often flashes in the pan and will make you look foolish for a short period of time and then your friends will have pictures of you as a fad follower to mock you with down the road. Think Vanilla Ice and never follow any trend that looks stupid, unlikely to last or outrageous.
7.Keep your glasses in the same place every night so you can easily find the in the morning rush. Your sunglasses, likewise, should be in a hard carry case so you have them with you at all times.
8.Designer eyeglasses are better quality and thus last longer, are more comfortable and receive more praise that cheap knock-offs. Designer eyewear is, therefore, the only way to go.
9.Avoid switching between your glasses and freestyle often. This can result in headaches and eye strain.
10.Never touch your eyes with your hands. You’ve seen where they’ve been and we all know you don’t wash your hands as frequently as you should!

Flowery and Delicate Eyewear for the Princess in You
Filed Under Brand Wave, Designer Eyeglasses, Designer Sunglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Dior is where its at if you if you think you are a princess. Dior has everything you look for, it’s a designer brand that has designer prestige and yet the intricate and delicate metal designs on the temple bars are metalwork that is as sweet and sultry as lace forged from metal. Dior is for women who know what they want, demand the finest quality goods and have a distinct idea about what women’s fashion involves.
The hottest names in women’s eyewear fashion include more than Dior, although for the princess-type Dior is tops. You could try MiuMiu, which is an up and coming star in the fashion world, especially among young and confident women. The sunglasses are new and fresh and the colors are vibrant and adorable.
For older princesses, you might need a look that is more grown up and yet lets the people around you know you still have that princess vibe. Prada means power, Versace means European glamour, but Armani means princess, and a whole new princes at that. You can’t just walk around in Dior or MiuMiu if you are over 30, but you can still rock your sex appeal and princess look with a new look at what makes you sexy, confident and bold.
Princesses don’t always have to wear pink, either, you can be sexy and princess-like in any color (although, black isn’t the best princess hue).

Fancy Eyewear for a Night Out
Filed Under Brand Wave, Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Finding high-quality eyeglasses to wear with your fanciest clothing is not always easy. However, if you know where to shop and how to put key items together to form an immaculate and sexy look, you’ll improve your chances of eyewear success. For example, Police eyewear for men class up any tuxedo and give it a James Bond-like look that the ladies surely won’t soon forget.
For women the options expand quite a bit. Contact lenses when dressing up can be great, but they don’t really add anything in the way of charm or another item to show off your fashion poise. Prada eyewear, on the other hand, gives your wardrobe a bit of edge as well as a special designer look that other fashion fans will instantly recognize and credit. Contact lenses can be a great asset for fancy nights out, but they suggest no risk or fashion prowess.
For both genders, fashionable eyewear give a wardrobe the extra push from well put together to smartly and fashionably chic. For men, a great way to up the sexy factor is to carry eyeglasses that help you look dignified and a tad older. Think George Clooney in sexy and simple frameless eyeglasses adding a bit of the ol’ sex appeal as well as adding a bit of respectful admiration and jealousy from your male friends. For added fashion points, men should carry a pair of sunglasses while outdoors. Again, George Clooney is a great example of how this can be done well. Think Oceans 11 and the constant shift between eyeglasses and sunglasses.

More Reasons to Love MiuMiu
Filed Under Brand Wave, Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Prada always rolls out the red carpet when they launch a new line. Every year, fashion fans around the world wait eagerly for any new information or new looks to leave the Prada house. Some people sit outside area 51 and wait for alien invasions, others wait outside Prada’s design house and wait for new products to emerge. When Prada launched the MiuMiu sub-brand there was a wave of frenzied activity that could easily parallel a UFO sighting near Rosewell, but what emerged was even more shocking than extraterrestrials. MiuMiu, a Prada line for youths that is more affordable, slightly more youthful and a bit more risky.
For anyone on a budget, MiuMiu eyewear are essentially the same as Prada eyewear but with a bit more flare and fun at a fraction of the price. Once the MiuMiu brand gets built up over time, the designs may grow to be as expensive or reputable as their parent line, Prada. But the financial aspects aside, MiuMiu has given us several reasons to enjoy their creativity while Prada continues to dominate the sleek, New York business look it has so long enjoyed.
MiuMiu infuses their designs with more color and drama than Prada, and at a lower cost, we’re not surprised the design house has decided to take a few risks with their designs and color palates in order to venture into new markets. Falling in love with MiuMiu may take a bit of time, but it is inevitable. Its like a bad, extremely cheesy romantic comedy that you just can’t turn away from.
