Every year on my birthday I get gifts that I don’t really want. Sock? Really grandma? This year I’m making a list of all the birthday gifts I actually want. If you have a friend or relative who is female, between the ages of fourteen and forty, this list will work for you.

Sunglasses. This is something I need to stay safe and protect my eyes, but it’s also a fashion item I can’t afford for myself or else don’t want to spend my own money on. Designer sunglasses are the only way to go. Here’s how I benefit as the recipient: I get a healthy item to protect my eyes, and I get high fashion, so I look cool. Plus I wear them all the time so I’m constantly reminded of the person who gave me the gift. The best brands for women are Prada, Dior, MiuMiu, Jimmy Choo, Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford. Any of these brands will make any true woman’s eyes pop with glee.

Jewelry. A bit contrived, but jewelry is always a good idea for a woman. You’ll find that women really do love to glisten, at any age and from any creed. It’s a symbol of affection and appreciation, and the fact that the gift has no other purpose or meaning signals to women that it’s simply a gift that is meant to make her smile. Functional gifts are nice sometimes, but nothing says love like a trinket that has no other purpose than to show affection.

It’s true that crazy cat women are sometimes crazy, but at a deeper level they are just extremely empathetic, emotional women who are attracted to gentle, lovely creatures. They aren’t spinsters or nuts. They are adorable. Here’s how to get the cat lady look with simple designs like horn-rimmed glasses by MiuMiu or Prada and a few vintage clothing options.

First, you’ll want to frizz up your hair a bit, tease it up high and put it in a librarian’s bun. No crazy cat lady has soft, flowing locks. They prefer the teased up look that cat’s paws won’t get stuck in. These are complete cat folk, don’t forget.

The glasses are important. Horn-rimmed are ideal because they follow the contours of the feline form and are, frankly, a super cool fashion statement. Especially in tortoiseshell or turquoise on the exterior and maroon or red on the interior, which adds a bit of high fashion that cat ladies may or may not be known for. After all, you need to spice up the look and make it more 21st century.

Cat ladies need pockets for cat treats, so you’ll need sweaters with lots of room for catnip, snacks, toys and string. We’re looking for stuff that can’t rip or tear easily on the feline claws, so leather is always good. Either that, or aim for cheap, replaceable clothing so you aren’t heartbroken when the cats rip up your threads.

Finally, cat ladies don’t wear high heels. Have you tried running after a stray in them? Not possible. Flats are best or short, stocky heels. Cat ladies are also fond of clothing with a small amount of sway, so cats aren’t scared of sudden appearances but can come to expect the approaching swirl of their favorite human.

Approachability means something different to everyone, but there are still a few key elements to a friendly wardrobe that are universal. First, if you are covered in kitch people will find you awkward. If you are covered in Prada people will find you too high-brow. Covered in dirty, unmarked clothing and you’ll come across as lazy or unkempt. So, how do you toe the line between too designer and too vintage? We’ll tell you.

Have you ever seen a movie where the star female character was covered in designer logos? Probably not, because really approachably fashionable women don’t need the credit name brands lend to make her look cool. Like the image here, of a girl that is fashionable and chic without trying too hard. You could walk up and talk to a girl like this. She isn’t super made up, and she could toss around a football with you or go dancing, all in the same outfit. Approachability.

Now imagine the girls you know who wear brand names, heels and who accessorize with tiny watches and dangling earrings and giant bracelets, all of which get in the way of her life (and interaction with others) without adding much to her look. You could still look hot and feminine with flat shoes and a watch where you can actually read the time or in jeans instead of a skin-tight skirt. High fashion may look cool, but it doesn’t look friendly. I’ve never wanted to hug a model on the runway (except, maybe, to warm her up as they always look freezing, pale and sickly on the catwalk).

In a hectic world of responsibilities, minimal free time, family and work hassles and a million other things going on in your head, how do you find time to be alone, to do the things you enjoy, to shop for the high-end Dior and Prada you daydream of wearing, or to simply sit and relax? Stress is one of the main causes of illness and disease, and is a serious killer. Stress wears on all of your organs, and brings down your immune system.

Its important to find time for yourself, even if its just a few moments in the morning of quiet meditation or relaxation before you start your day. Everyone has their ‘release’ and if you don’t find out what yours is and force the world to leave you alone long enough every day for you to enjoy your hobby, then you’ll eventually break down, or if you don’t break down emotionally your body will start to break down on its own in the form of attacking itself with disease. Its no small matter to live a stressful life, if you can’t enjoy yourself then what is the point? Naturally people have responsibilities they have to deal with but in the end if you can’t find a way to be happy you are in the wrong job, the wrong marriage or the wrong situation in life.

We suggest taking a day every week to yourself, and if that isn’t possible then taking a morning to yourself every once in a while is great way to release stress, even if you just lock yourself in a closet and watch TV.

Summer is nearly here, and that means humidity, hot, hot weather and unbearable bugs, but it also means fun summer fashion. Accessories are especially popular in summer, and designer sunglasses from a known brand like Versace or Prada, can make all the difference in any look.

So, this summer when its too hot to trot, keep in mind your health and slap on a pair of excellent designer sunglasses both to keep your eyes protected from dangerous UV rays and to give your look the edge it needs to stand out.

Some of the best summer brands include Miu Miu, which is young enough to still be innovative, fresh and bold without going overly crazy and making itself inaccessible. Another great brand is Alexander McQueen, and although the designer died less than a year ago the design house continues to create images in his vision, both colorful, unique and fresh—everything you want in summer.

For sporty looks, Bolle and Carrera are two of the best summer fashion accessories. On women, Bolle give a dignified outdoor look that ads a cutting edge to any feminine look. You’ll find they make even the most timid girl look like she could be a world-class surfer or skater. Carrera are beach-ready sunglasses that look sexy on men with fashionable shorts and sandals, giving even the biggest book worm an outdoor look. Men can also look more dignified and less beach-ball friendly if they slap on a pair of Serengeti sunglasses. These especially make older men look young, edgy and bold and are a total James Bond look.

When an allergy attack hits, the eyes are often hit the hardest. If you wear contact lenses like those by Focus or ClearVue, you know how important it is to avoid contact with allergens before your eyes become red and scratchy and your lenses start to feel irritating.

In spring, one of the best things to do if you suffer from allergies caused by outdoor pollen, or other unavoidable particulates, is to keep yourself constantly on an antihistamine. This is especially important if you are someone who wears contact lenses. In spring, you often see more people wearing glasses rather than contacts for just this reason, but there are highly moisture-rich contact lenses you can buy if you are too stubborn to revert to glasses.
You can also carry eye drops with you to put in your eyes whenever they feel itchy or red. This can temporarily relive eye strain but it isn’t a long-term solution. Still, in spring it isn’t a bad idea to carry this small item with you anyway.

If your allergies stem from felines or canines you may be able to simply avoid contact with pets. If, however, you are an animal lover you’ll have to keep yourself on drugs until modern medicine comes up with a better solution. There are shots you can get to help decrease your vulnerability to dander, but these are often administered weekly and can be bothersome.

If your eyes do get red and puffy right before a big event, consider tinted glasses or sunglasses to hide the worst of the redness. Nothing is more unattractive then red eyes, and there is no makeup you can buy to tint your eyes white again. You have to let mother nature run her course.

Women’s Day was March 8th a day when we celebrate the achievements of women everywhere with the gift of designer sunglasses like those by Prada or Dior, From housewives who work hard to raise children and care for husbands, to businesswomen who run massive empires and politicians who run chunks of the globe. Every woman has a right to be celebrated for her hard work, dedication to family and managing to make everything she does look easy and fashionable. Here’s to you, women!

So, how do they make it look so easy? I think the secret is in the accessories. Fashionable women look just like other women except that they pay a bit more attention to the accessories. Designer shoes, purse, sunglasses like Versace, and a bit of perfectly placed jewelry go a long way in taking any outfit from drab to fab. It takes attention to detail, hard work and persistence to come up with a look that works for a soccer mom, a politician on the move constantly or a businesswoman who has to keep track of untold amounts of information on a daily basis. Add to her list of tasks the important one of looking and acting like the fabulously organized woman that she is and you’re sure to be as impressed as you should be.

Some of the best fashions for women on the go include Oliver Peoples, sunglasses that are durable and yet fashionable, accessible and yet not overly frilly or too obscure. They are the perfect sunglasses for a busy woman and the perfect gift on woman’s day.

The most advanced sunglasses on the planet are here now. Police Sunglasses look more futuristic than the sunglasses the Terminator wore. Sunglasses with cameras attached to the sides. Sunglasses with USB devices in them. Sunglasses with transition lenses. Sunglasses that enhance your performance and shave milliseconds off professional’s times.

Its time to stop looking towards the future when its here now! Some of the most innovative ideas are arising now, with great new features. For example, look at Nike and Adidas, they spend fortunes on R&D so they can have the most performance-enhancing sunglasses on the market. Shaving a fraction of a second off a professional’s time is not an easy task. But these companies undertake that endeavor.

Designer sunglasses are not only beautiful, but exotic and futuristic. Sunglasses are getting more lightweight, the materials are better and the quality continues to increase. You’ll find more innovations on a daily basis than you could have anticipated a decade ago. Designs are advancing, technology is increasing, everything is on the rise, from R&D to the importance of design.

Its no surprise that Hollywood stars are wearing futuristic looking sunglasses. Rhianna and Beyonce are paving the way for new futuristic fashions to be here now. The future was supposed to be very far away, but in the fashion world it has already arrived, and when you think about it that means it will soon be past. Fashions are flashes in the pan, they are instant and then gone, and in terms of the future, we have a set of ideas, things we expect to be a certain way in the fashion world.

Spring is the most sensuous of seasons. It provides a coming out of hibernation and of a covering up of the body. In spring, people are liberated, fresh and eager to wear flashier, shorter outfits to contrast the dullness of winter wardrobes. Winter is an uninteresting Prada while springtime is a beautiful and unique Alexander McQueen.

Spring fashion this season is expected to be brighter than ever. Expect to see floral prints with interesting waist cuts that vary in location, width and boldness. Like the image here, you can expect any variation of wild patterns, textures and layering. Especially popular for the workplace is are the two looks on the right, the pleated print skirt and the textured blouse—both give weight, style and charm without compromising fashion or form.

In the accessories department, expect to see print shoes! Shoes haven’t been this much fun since the ‘80s, and in the first time around we weren’t that hot about the clown look they sometimes afforded. This time, expect floral prints, native motifs and extremes in texture. Sunglasses are also hot this springtime, and you’ll find unique designs by Fendi and Oliver Peoples to be some of the hottest sellers in the sunglasses market.

Hair and makeup trends in 2011 spring will tend towards natural without much highlight. Scrape off your fake eyelashes and blush, and go for a more neutral and calm look, with parted hair and minimal lipstick. We’re talking back to the basics. Your clothing will be so textured and printed that your face should be a blank canvas to highlight the clothing.

Believe it or not, winter is the worst season for eye health. People often leave home without their sunglasses in winter, they associate sunglasses with summer I suppose. Nevertheless, the harsh, dry winter wind dries the eyes, the light unbroken by trees causes squinting and eye strain and if there is snow present the sun reflects upwards into the eyes from multiple angles. Thus, in winter, sunglasses are actually more useful and necessary. So, grab your trusty Bolle sunglasses and block mother nature from ravaging your eyes prematurely.

Many women suffer crow’s feet, wrinkles in the outer corners of their eyes, as a result of straining and squinting in winter. The best way to avoid crow’s feet isn’t with facial creams and nighttime ointments, but with high quality, designer sunglasses. Designer sunglasses are durable, reputable and block UV rays as well as help you look fashionable and beautiful. They are a necessary tool in all seasons for any woman who wants younger, fresher looking skin and brighter eyes.

If you plan on hitting the slopes this winter, plan ahead and bring a pair of sunglasses that are durable and easy to store in your pocket. That way, when you aren’t wearing your ski goggles you can slip easily into your sunglasses.

Ski goggles are, in themselves, an essential winter sports tool. The orange tint increases contrast making it easier for you to see bumps and breaks in the snow or ice. Meanwhile, it protects your skin and eyes from wind and cold as well as UV rays and eye-strain. They are a must have for skiing, snowboarding or outdoor ice skating.
