Top Three Women’s Professional Eyewear Designs
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Addidas eyewear is surprisingly professional in design, especially for women in the business world who want to be taken seriously and considered equals with their male peers. The majority of their recent releases are frameless designs with unassuming temple bars and nearly invisible bridges. This allows a listener to focus 100% on you, with minimal distractions. It also allows much more to be conveys through your eyes. While modern fashion is tending towards thick temple bars and black frames, avoid the fad and go traditional, your peers are sure to respect a worker who looks tidy and professional, but focused on the task at hand and not on their appearance.
If you want to jump on the latest trends, Hugo Boss has a surprisingly diverse and modern range of women’s eyewear. With cutting-edge designs, creative little quarks and a stark, European feel, this brand is sure to provide something for anyone who wants to outline their eyes in a fierce and determined hue. The Clark Kent look that Hugo Boss typifies is sure to go over well with any woman in the workplace who is known for meeting timelines, efficiency, straightforwardness and hard work.
For a more feminine and creative look, check out DKNY designs. For the woman in the workplace who is not willing to sacrifice style for a seat at the boy’s table, this design is perfect. With feminine lines that obey some of the latest trends and also the most tried and true structures, DKNY is in a class of its own. DKNY does not ‘go pink’ like many design houses do when designing for women, instead they have studied the bone structure of the female form and have found curves and lines that compliment and encourage the female form in a way that is both professional and alluring.

How to Pick Eyewear Colors that Suit Your Look
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Once you have determined the eyewear shape that best suits your face the next hurdle is choosing the color that best compliments your complexion. Weather you’re wearing thick-framed Dior or thin-templed Versace, color is sure to make or break the overall appearance of your most important accessory. Here is a guide to choosing colors that compliment.
Skin color – your skin tone is either a darker tan, brown or black with warm yellow undertones or pale, clear or blue-based. It is best to compliment your skin tone with a color that enhances your natural beauty. For darker skin try caramel, khaki or copper shades, for lighter skin try blue, grey or lilac shades to really bring out the natural shimmer in your skin tone.
Hair color – Your hair will be either dark brown or black or else light blonde, white or red. For darker hair you’ll look bold and stunning in bright white or else compliment your hair with bronze or brown frames. For blonde hair you can appear the flashy belle of the ball in any bold color like red, blue or green, but for a classier look try a subdued variation in mauve, rose, baby blue or another cool, calm shade.
Eye color- While your eyes will be hidden behind sunglasses and thus of lesser importance, in eyeglasses attention is drawn to your eyes and color matters very much. For brown, black or otherwise dark eyes you should focus on complementary colors like gold, tan or bronze, or else contradict the warm hues of your eyes with a sharp turquoise, green or blue. Both will draw attention to the natural beauty of your eyes. For lighter eyes like blue, green and hazel try to outline them with bold colored frames like silver, black, brown or red, or else hide the frames by going with wireless of thin temple bar designs.

Celebrity Sunglasses

What better place to get fashion tips than from those constantly on display? Celebrities, whose lives are consumed with worrying about their appearance, have become the front runners in international fashion. Rather than looking to Donatella Versace or Marc Jacobs, who will obviously favor their own designs and attempt to push new trends, look to the unbiased celebrities whose careers hang in the balance between staying hip and becoming over the hill. In 2009 two of the top celebrities are sure to be Daniel Craig, who became a household name when he played Bond in Casino Royale, and Angelina Jolie, who continues to rank as every girl’s (and teenage boy’s) favorite star. What do they sport both on and off the silver screen- Tom Ford’s, Ray Ban’s and Persol sunglasses.
One top male celebrity in 2009 is Daniel Craig, who recently stole the role as James Bond from the classic look of Pierce Brosnan. The modern Bond wears designer clothing, designer accessories and has emotional baggage. Very couture. Stay in fashion by emulating this rising stud star, who has forgone the masculine denim and Ray Ban’s for more modern slacks and Tom Ford or Persol eyewear. Rather than appearing macho and strong, the modern Bond is educated, sleek and technical. Indeed, the modern man is changing.
One of the best female celebrities to emulate in 2009 is Angelina Jolie. Though everyone already knows she is one hot mama, Jolie has managed to stay on top through constant adaptation. She landed yesteryear’s hottest celebrity, Brad Pitt, and has charm to spare for her public, her children and her career. Recently nominated for a Best Actress award, she has proven that she is beyond merely beautiful. Get her look with tight cami tops, baggy khaki bottoms and classic Ray Ban eyewear.

Advertising, in recent years, has become more comical, more flashy, more edgy and more seductive. So, what was the best eyewear ad of all time? Here are the top five contenders and the lucky winner of best eyewear ad of all time.
Number five on our countdown is Versace, whose campaigns, albeit interesting, are somewhat staged, overly glamorous and pretentious. However, the company has created a name for itself in high fashion owing almost entirely to the company’s image as the highest of the high.
Number four is a recent edition to the eyewear ad army, Police Sunglasses. By recruiting A-list celebrities to act out edgy and dangerous looking scenes for their photo shoots, Police secured its place in a niche eyewear market for midlife crisis men. There unique and creative use of celebrities, Hollywood danger, sex appeal and designer accessories, Police was able to jump from a nowhere brand to a name-brand of recognizable style and fame in a relatively short period of time.
Gucci has always shocked the public by pushing the envelope on what is allowed. In several recent ad campaigns Gucci has been blocked or banned from certain publications where youths might encounter their advertisement. For this reason, we find Gucci appealing, shocking and we crave the unholy flare of the Gucci brand. That makes Gucci number three on our countdown.
Number two on our countdown is the illustrious Ray Ban, whose ads have remained classy, retro and ever popular. Despite being one of the most successful campaigns in eyewear, there was always something a bit lucky in their success. Hollywood is in love with Ray Ban’s, and the company was lucky to have such a public endorsement, yet the campaigns themselves were somewhat lacking in creativity. Instead the company relied on celebrity sightings, movie appearances and other recognitions to boost sales and image.
Number one on our countdown (drum roll please!) is the Tom Ford ad campaign, “Whose that behind those Tom Fords?” This ad campaign ran for ages, with some of Hollywood’s most elite peeking out from behind the now famous shades. Check out their ad, and their now famous shades!
